Launch of the African SUMMIT
A new international highlight at the heart of INTERMAT
On 22 April 2027, INTERMAT will host the first edition of the African Summit, a brand-new event dedicated to the development prospects of the construction and infrastructure sector on the African continent.
Organised as part of the trade fair, this summit will bring together public decision-makers, institutional representatives, industry players and sector experts to discuss the major challenges shaping the future of African infrastructure.
Understanding the dynamics of a rapidly changing market
Driven by sustained population growth, rapid urbanisation and a growing need for infrastructure, the African continent represents one of the most strategic markets for the construction sector by 2050.
The African Summit aims to offer INTERMAT exhibitors and visitors a concrete overview of development opportunities, ongoing and future infrastructure projects, as well as requirements for equipment, technology and expertise.
A focus on the continent’s key markets
This first edition will highlight several countries identified for their strong potential for development in the fields of infrastructure and construction, including South Africa, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia.
These are all markets driven by major investment programmes in transport networks, energy, urban infrastructure and housing.
A program focused on projects and partnerships
Through conferences, round-table discussions and case studies, the African Summit will address the key development priorities championed by African nations, investment prospects for the coming decades, and opportunities for industrial and technological cooperation.
Participants will have the opportunity to discover a selection of major infrastructure projects, gain an understanding of the challenges involved in financing and modernising equipment, and benefit from the insights of public, private and financial sector stakeholders active on the continent.
