In France, the production of mineral extractive industries and construction materials (concrete, mortar, plaster…) is valued at around €9 billion, according to figures from UNICEM.
More specifically, the aggregates industry represents:
- Approx. 305 million tonnes produced in 2024
- Normally, production is around 360 million tonnes annually nationwide. The market slightly contracted following COVID and the recent difficulties in the real estate sector. However, prospects for 2025 are encouraging.
